Dear Neighbors,
I have spent my life working hard, paying taxes, building a local business, and raising a family. I have also been an active citizen in our community by serving in local charitable organizations, boards and commissions.
I couldn't help but recognize two simple things.
First, in my business, I provide quality service to my customers in the most
cost efficient manner possible because in the end, it is my money and people depend on me for their jobs and paychecks. But isn't the federal government's money mine (and yours) too? And, should we accept anything less than that from Congress? In fact, shouldn't we expect more?
Second, I knew from my experience as the Chairman of the Alpine Planning Group Park Committee and the President of the Rancho Santa Fe Board of
Directors that it is possible to run a government organization efficiently, to
cut taxes and balance a budget while always providing important and valuable services. But it requires cutting wasteful spending and taking the responsibility of treating your neighbor's money as seriously as you would treat your own.

Ken King…Government from a businessman's perspective…
Congress has treated the illegal immigration crisis like you would treat a child with a scraped knee…a little antiseptic and a flintstone band-aid. Illegal immigration is not a scratch - it is a hemorraging artery and must be treated that way.

Stop. Spending money the government doesn't have on wasteful, unnecessary things must stop. Republicans, Democrats…it doesn't matter because they all seem to be forgetting whose money it is. Yours and mine.

Today we live in a different world - a world where terrorists seek to destroy Americans and our way of life.
